Dr Ilias G. Pechlivanidis has an extensive background in hydrological modelling. He has developed and worked with lumped and (semi-) distributed hydrological models (conceptual, empirical, hybrid conceptual-physics, and process-based model structures) at continuous and event-based time scales. Hydrological modelling scripts/codes/functions have mainly been developed in programming languages such as Matlab, Python/GIS, R, Fortran. In particular, Ilias has extensively worked with the Rainfall-Runoff Modelling Toolkit (RRMT; developed by Prof. Thorsten Wagener) and contributed in the development of its semi-distributed version (RRMT-SD) (principal developer Dr Barbara Orellana). Ilias has also developed models based on the SCS-CN method. Ilias is heavily involved on the application of the HYPE model at the large scale (national, continental and global, named S-HYPE, E-HYPE and WW-HYPE respectively).
