Enhancing hydro-climate services through seamless communication of S2S forecasts
I was very pleased to attend AGU23 in San Francisco (11-15 Dec. 2023) and be an invited speaker in the Water and Society: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Hydroclimatic Forecasts for Water Resources Decision-Making session.
My presentation focused on an assessment of the skill complementarity of sub-seasonal (6 weeks ahead) to seasonal (7 months ahead) hydro-meteorological forecasting systems across Europe. This allowed to identify the spatiotemporal complementarities between these systems and seamlessly communicate them to enhance decision-making.
This analysis contributes to a notable advancement in hydro-climate services, offering diagnostics into the tipping points for transitioning from sub-seasonal to seasonal forecasts across all European river systems.
